Our 11 Favorite Artist Choice Custom Pop-Up Tents

TentCraft Art Team /// 05/06/2022

Sometimes, our customers come to us with specific art for their custom tent that we apply to our templates and prepare for print.

Other times, they let us — the TentCraft art team — take a stab at it because they’re not sure where to even start with a tent design. We call those instances “artist choice,” because we get to choose what goes on the tent.

We peruse the customer’s website and social media profiles to dial in their branding and then design a tent we believe is a strong representation of that company or organization. Typically, there’s some back-and-forth with the customer before a final design is agreed upon. Occasionally, the customer is inspired after seeing an initial design and comes up with their own new design.

Regardless, our team ends up creating some pretty cool-looking tents, even if they occasionally never see the light of day.

To make the process of an artist’s choice tent go smoothly, we offered up some tips for a seamless experience. This article highlights some of favorite artist choice pop-up tents.

Winchester Creek Farm

This playful tent started with inspiration from a logo and grew into a landscape of the popular North Carolina alpaca and mini horse farm.

Coal Iron Works

Coal Iron Works came to us with a simple logo of an ember and we transformed it into a tent.

Groove Smoothie

Groove Smoothie needed a tent that stood out at music festivals.

Mishawaka Parks & Recreation

Mishawaka Parks & Recreation needed a custom tent for their farmers markets. This was a case where they gave us one very specific design instruction: no carrots! So, we included plenty of fruits and vegetables, but held the carrots.

Team XCluded

This professional video game team sent us photos of their merchandise and our team created this hip-looking tent.

This California-based hydration company sent us a ton of assets that we turned into tents, media walls, and fitted table covers.

Tame Impala

The band Tame Impala created a fake medical company — AionWell Rushium — as a theme of its tour. They asked our team to reate a tent to follow that theme, and we ended up depicting a pharmaceutical advertisement.

Tri City Concession

The instructions were simple: Create a concession tent for a 1980s festival.

Two Chicks Sparkling Cocktails

Our team used branding from the Two Chicks website to develop this floral-themed tent. There was some back-and-forth before landing on a final design.

Calling All Horse Girls

Calling All Horse Girls initial tent was created using branding from the magazine’s website. The Horse Girls team ended up going in another direction with a simpler design.

When TentCraft goes to trade shows, like the Experiential Marketing Summit in Las Vegas, we like to represent our home base: Traverse City, Michigan. Northern Michigan is home to plenty of hunters, so we created a gable-style tent to look like a hunting cabin found deep in the woods..
