If you saw somebody just passing out sub sandwiches on a busy street corner, would you buy one? No, and neither would I. It doesn’t matter how good they look or how long it’s been since you scarfed down that bag of Fritos. Street subs are suspect. They just are. Now, a guy selling subs from a storefront, with banners and countertops and everything? That’s a guy you can buy a sandwich from. The tent set-up lends his whole venture authenticity. (It doesn’t hurt that they’re coming from the NYC Sub Shop, whose Staten Island Sandwich is nothing short of legendary.)
